Upgrade notes

Setting /etc/hostname to fly.local to fix the rpc.idmapd domain problem where users homedirs all mapped to being owned by nobody may not have been the right fix. Remember to set up backups again once things are up and running.

The “computers on VLAN122 can get to fly1 but not fly” problem is fixed with: net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 2 in /etc/sysctl.conf and possibly also “echo 2 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/eth1/rp_filter” (though the first should take care of the second on boot)

This seems to be the correct output:
[root@fly install]# rocks list host interface fly
SUBNET IFACE MAC IP NETMASK MODULE NAME VLAN OPTIONS CHANNEL
private eth0 00:10:18:6D:74:78 10.1.1.1 255.255.0.0 —— fly —- ——- ——-
public eth1 00:10:18:6D:74:7A 192.101.188.46 255.255.255.0 —— fly —- ——- ——-
media eth2 00:A0:D1:E3:00:C2 172.25.136.29 255.255.252.0 —— fly1 —- ——- ——-
